Zoom Integration Guide

Prerequisites

• A Sport Safety Academy administrator account (organization admin) at sportsmedcampus.com.
• A Zoom account with permission to schedule meetings.

Adding the app (connecting Zoom)

1. Sign in to Sport Safety Academy at https://sportsmedcampus.com.
2. Go to Admin → Zoom Integration (https://sportsmedcampus.com/admin/zoom).
3. Click “Connect Zoom.”
4. You will be redirected to Zoom's authorization screen, which requests permission to schedule and read meetings (scopes: meeting:write:meeting and meeting:read:meeting). Sign in with your Zoom account and click Allow to authorize.
5. You will be returned to the Zoom Integration page, which now shows “Connected to Zoom.” The app does not read your Zoom profile; the host account email appears only after you schedule your first session.

Using the app (scheduling a live session)

Prerequisite: Zoom must be connected first (see above).

1. On the Zoom Integration page, under “Schedule a live session,” choose a course, enter a topic, choose a start time, and set a duration.
2. Click “Schedule meeting.”
3. The app creates a meeting on your connected Zoom account and displays the join link. The join link is saved with the course so it can be shared with enrolled learners.
4. Scheduled sessions appear in the “Scheduled sessions” list, each with its join link.

Note: The integration only schedules meetings. It does not record meetings, join meetings, or track attendance, and it does not access recordings, participant lists, chat, or meeting content.

Removing the app

You can remove the integration in either of two ways.

Disconnect within Sport Safety Academy

1. Go to Admin → Zoom Integration (https://sportsmedcampus.com/admin/zoom).
2. Click “Disconnect.” This immediately deletes the stored Zoom credentials from Sport Safety Academy.

Remove the app from your Zoom account

1. Log in to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
2. Click Manage → Added Apps, or search for the “Sport Safety Academy” app.
3. Select the “Sport Safety Academy” app.
4. Click Remove.

Implications of removal: After removal, Sport Safety Academy can no longer schedule Zoom meetings on your behalf. Any meetings already scheduled remain in your Zoom account until you delete them in Zoom.

How your data is handled after removal: When you remove the app from your Zoom account, Zoom notifies Sport Safety Academy and we delete the stored OAuth tokens for your account in accordance with Zoom's data compliance process. Disconnecting within Sport Safety Academy also deletes the stored tokens immediately. We do not retain your Zoom access or refresh tokens after removal.

Troubleshooting

• “Connect Zoom” does not complete or returns an error: make sure redirects/pop-ups are not blocked and that you approved the requested permissions, then try again from Admin → Zoom Integration.
• “Zoom is not connected for this tenant” when scheduling: connect Zoom first using the Connect Zoom button.
• A meeting was not created: confirm your Zoom account is allowed to schedule meetings and that the start time and duration are valid, then retry.

Frequently asked questions

• What permissions does the app request? Only the ability to create meetings and read back the meetings it created (meeting:write:meeting and meeting:read:meeting). It does not access recordings, participants, chat, or attendance.
• Who can connect Zoom? Only an administrator of your organization on Sport Safety Academy.
• Can I reconnect after disconnecting? Yes. Return to Admin → Zoom Integration and click Connect Zoom again.
